Solid Coating is a special surface finish for climbing walls, developed based on our many years of experience in climbing wall construction. We focused on properties that are important for both climbers and wall builders.
The surface is highly abrasion-resistant and designed to retain its properties even under intensive use. This allows for long-term use of the climbing surface without the need for resurfacing. At the same time, we focused on achieving a suitable balance between friction and surface cleanliness, helping to minimise rubber abrasion from climbing shoes and keeping the wall clean.
Solid Coating is applied to both coloured panels and natural plywood panels. The final surface treatment is carried out directly in our production facility, ensuring a consistent appearance across the panels.
The panels are delivered to the construction site with the surface finish already completed and are ready for immediate installation. No additional coating is required on site, which simplifies installation and eliminates mess and paint odours.
Trends are gradually changing. While climbing walls used to be predominantly coloured, today approximately 70–80% of the surface area of new walls is made up of exposed natural plywood.
We combine natural plywood with coloured areas or stained plywood to create a modern and minimalist look for the climbing wall and the surrounding space.
We ensure the durability and long service life of the surface by applying a two-component parquet lacquer and Solid Coating.
If required, the wall surface can also be left smooth, without Solid Coating.
New
Stained plywood allows you to add colour to the climbing wall while preserving the natural grain of the wood. The wall can therefore have a coloured finish while retaining the natural texture of the plywood. With some stain colours, the wood grain can even be further enhanced.
Stained plywood is also protected with a durable two-component parquet lacquer and Solid Coating, which protect the surface and ensure a long service life even under intensive use.
